Roll your eyes at me one more time!

Is it just me or has customer service really gone down hill. I don't understand why people seem to get upset when you asked them to do things that are included in their job description? They treat you like you've invaded their home, sat on their sofa, took the remote control from them and demanded they make you a cup of coffee that was specially made in Paris so they had to fly there and retrieve it for you.

I am quite aware that there are plenty of people who think that the literal translation of customer service =Personal slave. However, there are some people that are very nice and would just like you to do the job your paid to do without attitude. I have had my share of customer service jobs and I know first hand how difficult it can be. That being said I think I have found a way to stop the rolling of the eyes, the ignoring and down right rudeness. I figured out this wonderful solution when dealing with my 13 year old sister a couple of months. I took her on a weekend trip to Naples we went shopping and had a great time. On the way back we stopped for lunch and like most 13 year olds she got and attitude because the sun was out. She proceeded to be very rude and my blood was boiling, the only way I could think of dealing with her and and getting a chance to speak was to flick her right dead in the forehead!!!! Granted this action pretty much put me on her level but I got her attention. Her face was priceless. It's was confusion and terror all in one. It was like she was thinking what could anyone do that would make a grown person so upset that the only way they know how to deal with you is to regress to being a 13 year old just to get you to listen. All I could do was give her a look like YEP, THAT JUST HAPPENED.

So the next time your getting your coffee, trying to fix your cell phone, returning clothes(that you shouldn't have bought in the first place but you could return it so what's the harm) act like a 13 year old and get one good flick In and I bet they won't role their eyes anymore. That's just my thought on the matter.
